Dr. Carmen Pulido
Dr. Carmen Pulido attended the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) completing a Bachelor’s in Science degree in Psychology (2002). She graduated from the UCSD/San Diego State University Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology with Master’s (2007) and Doctoral (Ph.D., 2008) degrees in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Neuropsychology. Dr. Pulido is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the states of California and Texas.
Dr. Pulido completed a Fellowship in Biomedical Psychiatry and Neuroscience at UCSD where she focused on the neuroimaging of substance use disorders. She also completed two years of post-doctoral neuropsychological training at the San Diego Veterans Administration Healthcare System and the UCSD Medical Center.
In her research, Dr. Pulido has used neuropsychological assessment and functional magnetic resonance imaging to determine the effects of substance use and abstinence in the brain.
Her previous clinical work includes a private practice in San Diego North County and serving as Operations Psychologist at a Department of Energy site. She is currently on a contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) working directly with individuals with space flight experience. In the last three clinical settings, Dr. Pulido has worked to foster and support good psychological and cognitive health among professionals and executives.
In her spare time, Dr. Pulido is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacology.
